Android casino apps, Play Store and APK
Two very different products get called an Android app here: a Play Store listing, and an APK you download from the operator and install yourself.

What a sideload actually costs
An APK does not auto-update. A security fix arrives whenever you remember to go and fetch a new file, which for most people is never.
It also trains a habit that scammers rely on. Downloading gambling APKs from search results is one of the most reliable ways to install something that is not what it claims to be, and the login screen will look correct.
If you are going to do it anyway
Only ever from the operator's own domain, typed into the address bar rather than followed from a link. Check the domain character by character, because a phone truncates it and that is exactly what a clone counts on.
Then turn install-from-unknown-sources back off afterwards. It is a per-app permission on modern Android and leaving it on is the part that bites later.
